Stairways can be very dangerous when they are dark. These outdoor stairs are illuminated with waterproof RGB LED strips attached to the bottom edge of each step pointing down. LED strips could also be attached to the underside of a handrail to light up an entire stairway. The RGB LEDs pictured here were then hooked up to an 8 key in-wall touch controller. This is another example of "cheating" to create the effect of different color zones without the use of DMX or multiple controllers. Instead of matching each section of LED strip R-G-B to R-G-B of the controller, you could either switch R-G, R-B, or B-G for one or more of the strips and see which combination you like the best. Although this will not provide separate individually controllable color zones, it can create some neat color effects!
