Undercabinet Lights

Products Used/Details   •   Project Photos

LEDs have already helped to transform many drab kitchens into bright workspaces where you can actually see what you're cooking!  Warm white LED strips provide the nice soft light which many people are looking for- not the blueish white which many associate with white LED lights (warm white LEDs produce light similar to that of an incandescent light bulb).  Installation of these light strips is easy- simply cut the strips to the length you want (or tell us and we'll cut them for you), peel off the self stick backing, and stick them right underneath your cabinets!  You can run wire down to a power source in the basement (or up to the attic) or simply plug a power supply in an outlet in your cabinets.

12V Warm White Flexible LED Strip
For this example, we used one 5' piece of our warm white flexible LED strip.  It has been stuck under the cabinet facing down (with its self-stick backing).  Although our warm white flexible LED strip is the most popular choice for LED under cabinet lighting, you could also use RGB (color changing) or both warm white and RGB in combination.
Inline Dimmer
With a dimmer, you can turn these LED under cabinet lights into a night light!  Although this is not necessary, it is a nice option.  Any of our PWM dimmers will work (installed between the power supply and the flexible LED strip).
Male Power Connector
This helps to connect the flexible LED strip to the power supply or dimmer/controller.
Power Supply 1A 12W 12V
For longer runs you can use larger power supplies.  Contact us with questions about your specific DIY kitchen/remodeling project and we can tell you which power supply is necessary.
Wiring Diagram
If you have shiny counter tops, you can install the flexible LED strip on the front lip of the cabinet facing the back wall.  This limits the glare off of the counter top, creating a nice soft light.
